Seeing others and myself the way He sees them
Seeing Him at work
Seeing new ways of doing things, getting more efficient
Seeing my home and family the way He sees them
Seeing His word and applying it
Seeing His ways and following them
I sometimes feel so over whelmed
Too many things to do, I feel blurry
I want to be more focused, more kingdom focused
That’s what I want.
Let's encourage each other to walk with Jesus!
I am sitting in my office with the space heater aimed at my legs, looking out the window at a fresh layer of snow-ice on the sidewalk. It is a lovely winter scene, God has sent a reminder that He wipes slates clean at any time and any place.
Yesterday my dad would have turned 106 years old, tomorrow my mother in law would be 107. In a couple of months I will be a year older too, but I am still here.
This morning I was reading in the book of John, I love John. It feels like Jesus is still with me on this earth when I read this book. Jesus prays for his disciples and gives me a great example of how to pray for my children. Listen to this, “I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours….Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name.” Don’t you like this? This is my prayer for my two little families and for my husband.
Yes, tomorrow is a new year. What are your plans? Mine is to have a relationship with Jesus that is deeper than ever and to encourage everyone I know to do the same.
What will the year hold? IDK but lets hold fast to Jesus.
I was renewed at the Minnesota Women’s Retreat with Elizabeth Talbot’s talks on the book of John. Elizabeth has a way of bringing the Bible alive. If you ever have a chance to hear her speak don’t pass it up. Well, you can actually hear her on the Voice of Prophesy every day she is one of the key speakers. You may also go to www.vop.com and hear Elizabeth.
I know you all are so much more advanced than I am on the Bible but I just never put this together. Do you remember the story of Moses and the snakes? The children of Israel were being bitten by snakes and the Lord told Moses to put a snake on a pole and when the Israelites looked on the snake they would be healed. Take a look at Numbers 21:4-9. The people of Israel are tired and impatient. They hate everything. Venomous snakes start biting the people and many die. When the people repent they ask Moses to help them. God told Moses to, “Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole. . .when he looks at the snake, he will live.” verse 8
It’s the same with salvation–all be have to do is look upon Jesus and believe–don’t you love that it’s so simple. John 3:14-17–read it–“As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up; so whoever believes on Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”
There you have it and it’s not complicated is it?
Tomorrow I am headed to Kansas City to a women’s retreat. I hate leaving home and leaving my man at home alone. Yet I love to be with the ladies. I love the excitement that they bring with them. I love hearing the Word from the special speaker. I love to watch women as their lives are changed. I love to have my life changed too.
I will be giving a short welcome. What should I say? Should I just say I am happy to be with them and I am happy they have come. Or do I tell them the truth? I am worried for them and for me. I am worried that Satan has declared war on us and that we will let him get the upper hand.
Do you know how really evil and smart Satan is? I read an explanation about why he works so hard to wreck our life and it makes sense. Satan knows we are nearing the end and he knows in the end the Lord will win. He knows it is now or never to get us on his side. Scary isn’t it?
Oh my sisters pray diligently that we will hold fast and not falter.
I already knew this, why has it taken me so long to really comprehend the idea that if I want to hear from God I have to stay close to Him. Oh be quiet, I can hear you say right now, “no dah.” Well, have you thought about it? I mean really thought about it?
There are two people who I know who really do seem to hear from God on a fairly regular basis. Both of these ladies have a very close relationship with the Lord. Close relationship does not mean, saying your usual prayer and reading your usual 2 chapters of the Bible. It means thinking about Jesus, studying, spending time with Him and praying about everything. Even more than that it means communicating with Him as your best friend. Then and only then will we hear directly from Him.
I lost my cell phone on my way home from the Rocky Mountain Retreat, I asked the Lord right then and there to help me find it. I haven’t heard from Him so I think it’s lost forever. (The first phone I have ever paid extra for) I wonder if I knew Him better would He have told me where I left the phone. IDK
My dream is not about finding phones, or even getting rich, it’s about hearing from God. Making Him my best friend. I want that, I want Him to trust me to witness for Him. I want Him to ask me to do odd things, to ask me to stretch my brain, to . . .to. . .well, to do what ever it is that He wants me to do.
Right now I am headed to Sprint to buy a new phone.
I hope you have not given up on me. What can I say except the truth. The truth will set me free so they say. I have been too busy to blog. Can you imagine?
Minnesota women’s ministries had a wonderful leadership weekend. We had over 100 ladies for the weekend conference and we learned a lot.
I got home from Minnesota and left the same day for Seattle to see my children. It is wonderful to no longer have to travel half way around the world to catch a glimpse of the grand kids. We unpacked from daylight to dark and then some.
Tomorrow evening I leave for Rocky Mountain for a retreat in Colorado Springs.
Monday, piano lessons will begin. This year I have 26 students, this will certainly keep me out of trouble.
God is good, all the time.
Today our two-year old grand-daughter put her dolly in time out. She has been putting herself in time out for quite a long time but the dolly is new. Come to find out the dolly has been hitting and she deserved to be punished. The odd thing is the child was in time out earlier for something similar.
I wonder if God ever wants to put me in time out? I certainly deserve it from time to time. I am stubborn, mean, and busy–I wonder which of those does God hates the most?
Are you the me you want to be? What do you have in mind for yourself? Do you like who you have become? Perhaps you can hardly stand who you have become. Join me in examining your life, listen to your self, evaluate what you say and how you say it. We can change? We are actually expected to change and become more like our maker. Hummmm I wonder who the me is that I really want to be. Who is the real me that God made?
